Caregiving
All of us with the Caregiving Team hope that many members of our church will be inspired to be caregivers – either through joining with our collective efforts or through their own individual outreaches.
This group responds to the needs of our members who are ill or unable to share in worship through a cards-and-flowers ministry. We are available to provide transportation to Sunday services to those who need it as well as those who are without transportation to doctors’ appointments. We visit those in need and work through St. Peter’s parish nurse to address the health concerns of our church family.
Along with nurturing our spirits, the Caregiving Team keeps us well fed. Visitors to St. Peter’s are welcomed by cookies or bread from one of the Team. We also prepare – and oversee the distribution of – food for church families during important and difficult transitions in their lives.
And our ever-hungry college students? The Caregiving Team makes sure all of them – wherever they are attending school – receive “care packages” during finals week. (Thanks to member Emily Gantt and her crew who contributed to the 15 care packages that were sent most recently.)
It is our hope that the Caregiving Team is able to meet the needs and expectations of each person who comes under our care . . . and that visitors to St. Peter’s will be warmly greeted by us. We always welcome additional volunteers to the Team – and we’d like to see you at a meeting.
