A Monday Meditation for July 13, 2020
St. Peter’s–
Today’s meditation is brief. This is intentional.
Have you looked up at the sky today? If not, please do. If so, what did you see?
Have you looked down to see where your feet are grounded today? If not, please do. If so, what did you see?
Have you taken a moment to just breathe? If not, please do so. If so, what emotion filled you up when you did so?
In my phone calls, emails, texts, and various other communications with you, I am noticing a trend… we’re fragile, tired, and really out of sorts.
There are many reasons for this, and almost everyone said, “but my stuff isn’t as bad as [fill in the blank], but the result is the same – a community of people who love deeply and are feeling the pain of this pandemic and the current state of the world.
In moments like this, Jesus took stock of where he was in the world, who was with him, and what he had left to give. I’m asking myself to do just that today; will you do the same?
In faith and with hope, even amid the various challenges we call life,
