The Festival of Faiths is the Midwest’s largest one-day celebration of religious diversity and vitality. This year, the festival will be stream on YouTube and Facebook on Sunday, September 13, from 1-2:30p.m., with an online discussion following. The theme is “Celebrating FaithFully”. A drum circle, procession of faiths, testimonials, youth voices, sacred music performances, and spoken word arts will all be included. Lori Bievenour is one of the interviewees for the Festival, representing both St. Peter’s UCC and the Carmel Interfaith Alliance. For more information go to festivaloffaiths.com.
Church Chat Sundays at 11a.m.! Church Chat is a weekly virtual after-service discussion about the day’s scripture, message and our lives. Hosts are Brian Atkinson and Jeff Chandler. Church Chat takes place via Zoom so that smaller discussion groups can be facilitated.
Fall Education Team Offerings for Children & Youth Start September 13 - Worship & Wonder and 456 will be via Zoom starting September 13 at 9a.m. on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month. Worship & Wonder (Preschool – 3rd) will be led by Juj Query and guest teachers. 456 (4th-6th grade), will be led by Lori Radford and guest teachers. Youth Group will be led by Stevi Cook at 2p.m.
Men’s Retreat September 18-19 – An in-person event at The Atkinson Property along the White River, an ample and beautiful space to accommodate participants and adhere to social distancing guidelines and safety protocols. Anti-Racism Learning Opportunities - Starting Wednesdays on September 30, 7-8:30p.m., Associate Pastor for Missions & Education Becca Lockwood will lead an Anti-Racism class. If you are interested in this topic and want to do some additional reading, we recommend “White Fragility”, “Waking Up White,” and “How to Raise White Kids”.
Women’s Spiritual Gathering- Saturday, October 3rd- "Focus on the Moment" Please join us for a fun, uplifting, fellowship-building opportunity to focus on the moment in these unsettling times.
