GIVING TREE – Exercise the spiritual practice of generosity this Advent Season! The response has been great, AND a number of tags remain on our Giving Tree. Contact our office if you would like to have a tag but can’t stop by in person: 317.846.6882 or email@example.com. Questions? Contact Carrie Cooley at MissionsLead@StPetersCarmel.org. Here’s what remains:
Rural Health – 25 tags – a Medicaid funded psychiatric/nursing facility in Indianapolis with which we’ve had a relationship for nearly 20 years. For many of these people, St. Peter’s gifts are their ONLY gifts. Each tag has suggestions for a specific resident and asks for no more than $50 to be spent.
Family Promise – 9 tags – specific items are requested for families in housing transitions.
Exodus Refugee – 9 tags that link to an Amazon WishList to support local refugees.
Southeast Association Eviction Ministry – 4 tags that ask for a monetary donation of any size.
Trinity Haven – 2 tags requesting $25 gift cards to Kroger for LGBTQ+ youth
Delivery of Gifts – 3 more people are requested!
VISIO DIVINA EVENING MEDITATION – Begins THIS WEEK on Zoom! Block off a simple half hour (8-8:30pm) on Wednesdays November 30, December 7, 4, and 21 for a moment to pause, reflect, and enjoy time with others on a spiritual journey. We’ll look at a piece of art from our Generation to Generation series, and Lori Bievenour will guide us to engage The Spirit through the art. No experience is necessary!
CHRISTMAS CAROLING - St. Peter’s is going caroling in the community! Following the worship on Sunday, December 11, the Music Team will host a soup lunch for the carolers. Then we will split into smaller groups and visit individuals and nursing homes (Rural Health is on the list) to share the gift of song. This opportunity is open to EVERYONE! Sign-up on the bulletin board in Fellowship Hall.
ADVENT CANDLE LIGHTING – 1 slot left! Will you light the Advent candles on Christmas Eve at the 3pm service? You, your family, or a group, can sign-up here.
CHRISTMAS EVE LIVESTREAM CHAT HOST – Help us welcome and engage those in our community who worship online on Christmas Eve at 3 or 5pm. This is a WONDERFUL ministry and a sweet way to connect with others. Contact Liz Chandler at firstname.lastname@example.org.
CHRISTMAS AND CHRISTMAS EVE WORSHIP – This year St. Peter’s will celebrate Christ’s birth on December 24th with three in-person worship services at 3pm, 5pm, and 11pm. The 3pm and 5pm services will also be livestreamed. All are welcome! On Sunday December 25th, only in-person worship will be offered at 10am to share lessons, carols, and cookies. Also, Sunday January 1st’s worship will be online only as the Christmas-tide season continues.
LABYRINTH MANGER – Are You Ready? The manger awaits. It is ready. Are you? The Spiritual Life Team invites you to take time for yourself this Advent season to journey to the manger by walking the St. Peter’s Labyrinth. While leaves may blur the path forward at times, causing you to slow down and focus a little more, breathe deeply and allow yourself to be quietly drawn to the manger that waits in the center.
CHURCH CHAT - is taking a break for the holidays and will hopefully resume after the new year. Thank you!
USHERS FOR CHRISTMAS EVE AND BEYOND – Help us welcome and engage those in our community who worship in-person. Contact Patti Peck at email@example.com
