Greetings, St. Peter’s!
Today, we ask that you pray for our congregation as we embark upon the next phase of our journey together, which starts... now. Three specifics:
Becca’s Sabbatical.
Associate Pastor for Missions & Education Becca Lockwood will be on sabbatical June 22 – September 15, 2020. The theme will be “The Art of Solitude.” More details are included in the attached document.
Building to Remain Closed.
The Governance Council has decided in-person meetings will not be held in the St. Peter’s building through at least August and possibly longer. This includes congregational worship services as well as small groups. If you are interested in the rationale behind this decision, please see the attached document.
New Worship Format.
Starting May 31, worship will look different among us! We will “drop” an abbreviated and pre-recorded worship experience on YouTube on Sunday mornings at 10:00a.m., and one of our pastors will be available online from 10:00-11:00 a.m. for conversation, prayers, and interactions based on the worship experience. Please join us! (Further information will be sent out prior to the launch of our online services.)
And so,
God of Many Names and in All Places,
Ground our community in your love. Help us to listen to one another, even when we experience this pandemic differently, and remind us that our call is to love. Show us the opportunities that are before us, and rekindle our faith in new ways. We grieve the loss of so many things, but we also recognize the gift of perspective and the joy of Being the Church in a season of transformation. May it be so…
Thoughts/Ideas/Questions about the above can be addressed to our Governance Council, Finance & Operations Council, and/or our Pastors.
In Faith,
Your Leadership
