Monday Meditation

  • I’m writing to you from my couch once again, and the scene before me is actually sort of interesting. It’s the same thing I’ve been looking at for nearly a month now, but today, THIS is what I see:

  • Because of the lockdowns imposed on us because of the pandemic, perhaps now more than ever we’ve realized our home, our sense of place, extends much further that the walls of the house we live in.

  • Imagine God as the orchestra conductor. Now imagine each one of us playing our individual parts, that separate are nothing extraordinary but together create the most beautiful symphony ever written.

  • As yesterday was Easter we were again reminded of the “not-so-ordinary” miracle of Jesus’s resurrection. I have often wondered how even those closest to him did not initially recognize him post-resurrection. I wonder if I too would not have recognized Christ.

  • For me, it’s always felt like “Holy Week” is a strange name for the week leading up to Easter. For Jesus, it was a week of torture, pain, denial, and betrayal ending in death.
